Chateau Gentils Bordeaux Blanc (from the importer): $12.99

"This wine comes from the Entre-Deux-Mers area between the left and right banks of the Bordeaux appellation, in the village of Pellegrue, about thirty-five miles southeast of Saint-Émilion on the left bank of the Dordogne River. The wine has an aromatic nose of citrus, honey, and white-blossomed flowers. On the palate, it has fresh bright fruit flavors, with hints of white peach, a lovely texture from the minerality and a long citrusy finish that is refreshing. Serve with seafood, fish with cream sauce, chicken with lemon and herbs, seafood pastas. "

Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Toscana IGT Newly arrived this week and currently exclusive to Moon Wine and Spirits! $15.99
This multi-faceted Tuscan red is well-blended and brightly structured to pair with evening appetizers, grilled meats and spicier meals. On the palate, the wine shows ripe red raspberry notes transitioning to blueberry. (Imagine a chocolate-covered red raspberry!) The wine opens quickly with herbal and spice notes infused from barrel and barrique aging.  Though full-bodied, the tannins are soft, balanced and immediately food-friendly! Predominantly sangiovese, this IGT blend displays an Old World heritage, artisanship and precision that is reflected in Ciacci Piccolomini's reputation as one of Tuscany's finest Brunello di Montalcino producers.  We look forward to sharing more releases this year from Ciacci Piccolomini as these wines make their way to middle Tennessee!

New Local Beers from Cool Springs Brewery:

-Pecker Wrecker – their most popular high-gravity offering.  Pecker Wrecker is a West Coast Style IPA, 7.2% abv. Floral and orange citrus sweetness on the nose with hints of carmelized malts.  Excellently balanced combination of hops bitterness, white grapefruit and sweet malt flavors.  The finish is nice and piney, giving a bitterness to balance out the white grapefruit. $8.99 for 22 oz bomber bottle.

-Hop Brutality- Imperial IPA.  9.8% abv. Vibrant nose with aromatic expressive notes of fresh florals, citrus oils, and pine.  Flavors of resinous pine, meadow flowers, white grapefruit, and white peaches usher in a daring bitterness. As this beer licks your palate, it picks up spicy accents to accentuate the absolute boldness. This brew finishes dry and bitter with a lingering resinous quality. $9.99 for 22 oz bomber bottle.

-CircumSaison- Mosaic hopped Saison Ale.  8.2% abv. A citrus nose of grapefruit and lemon zest. A dusting of finely-ground white pepper and coriander follows with hints of meadow flowers, and white grapes. A soft confection of pilsner and munich malts begin the forefront of the palate. The malts only act as a springboard for the savoring bitter, and citrus hops. Flavors of lemon, peach, grapefruit, and pineapple. Esters exacerbate the fruity hops with un-ripened berries, lemons, and white grapes.  These dimensions layer upon themselves allowing for new flavors to be explored in every sip.  $8.99 for 22 oz bomber bottle.

-Brussel’s Muscle- Belgian Style Dark Ale. 10.1% abv. On the nose: bananas and clove fold into ripe berries with a small spritz of drifting alcohol. Hints of caramel and dark chocolate candy hide beneath. This beer has an amalgam of flavors, cocoa blended with a driving dark fruity sweetness. Plums, figs, and cherries come to the forefront. Mid palate has a dusting of chocolate candy. A mild phenolic black pepper spice finishes off the profile with light lingering roasted malts.  $11.99 for 22 oz bomber bottle.

Black Belle Imperial Stout

Black Belle is a collaborative effort between Blackstone Brewing company (in Nashville,TN) and Nelson’s Green Briar Distillery; makers of Belle Meade Bourbon. Black Belle is an Imperial Stout the has been infused with cocoa nibs and then aged in bourbon barrels for over 7 months. This beer is smooth and sweet with definite notes of bourbon, oak and dark chocolate. 10.2% abv.  $19.99 for 22 oz.


Xtant Napa Red Wine- 2006 vintage.
65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Malbec. Only 700 cases produced. Was $64.99, reduced this week to $49.99!  -- while supplies last. Everyone has their own reason, but for Jeffrey O'Neill and Laurence Vosti the path to the production of XTANT has been varied and circuitous. Jeffrey O'Neill is the third generation of a winemaking family, and has been in the wine business for all of his adult life. Until recently, he was president and CEO of the fourth largest winemaker in the United States. Jeff is chairman Emeritus of the Wine Institute. Laurence Vosti has had an interest in wine since attending school in the Bordeaux region of France. Along the way, in addition to his real estate development, he has owned a restaurant, a retail wine business and has been a collector of fine California and French wines for over 20 years. Larry is former President of the California Vintage Wine Society.
